Nestlé Tollhouse Cookies

This is the basic recipe for
the classic chocolate chip cookie.

2¼ cups1⅛ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp.½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp.½ tsp.salt
½ cup¼ cup butter, softened
½ cup¼ cup peanut butter
¾ cup⅜ cupsugar
¾ cup⅜ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp.1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs1 egg
12 oz.
(2 cups)
6 oz.
(1 cup)
chocolate chips (or carob chips)
1 cup½ cup chopped pecans

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs.

Gradually add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips (and optional pecans).

Drop by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
